Senior Outings

Belle Meade Sr TripThis group of seniors bundled up and enjoyed a wonderful tour and lunch at the Belle Meade Plantation.

Each month, we offer outings and day trips to places all throughout Middle Tennessee (and possibly beyond!). Depending on the trip, transportation is available to/from three locations: Enrichment Center in Franklin, Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, and Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville. All transportation times are tentative. Exact pick up and drop off times will be given to registered patrons 72 hours prior to the scheduled trip. Please visit the Senior Policies page for more registration information.

NEW! Lunch Bunch
Let's do lunch! We have a bus and are looking for 12 friends to join us on lunch outings once a month. We'll hit some favorites lunch spots as well as some places off the beaten path...we might even squeeze in a little shopping. Meet in the lobby of your desired location at 11am, and return times will vary. Lunch is Dutch treat, and there is a $3 transportation fee. Registration is required.

NEW! Hiking Trips 
"Take a hike" with us as we visit some local walking places. We will hit some local favorites and find some new places to walk and hike. Participants must be able to walk independently on different types of terrain. Some places we go may have easy and more difficult trails for seniors to choose from or we will stay together as a group. You will need to provide your own snacks and water for these outings. This outing is weather dependent and if we need to cancel the outing we will notify everyone as soon as possible. Meet in the lobby of the Williamson County Enrichment Center at 9am. Return times will vary. The cost of the hiking outing is $3 for transportation. Registration is required.

Monday Movie Matinee
Meet us at the Thoroughbred 20 movie theater in Cool Springs to watch the latest movies on the big screen. The movie and exact time will be determined closer to the date. Due to constantly adjusting of times and movies, we will communicate the movie and time 24 hours in advance of the event date. This activity is fully Dutch treat for your movie ticket and concessions. We will meet in the lobby of the theater 15 minutes prior to the start of the movie. Transportation is not provided. Registration is required.

Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre
Let's go to Nashville's original barn and most unique dining and theatre experience...Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre! Join us for great food and entertainment when we see "Smoke on the Mountain." This amazing musical tells the story of a Saturday Night Gospel Sing at the country church in North Carolina's Smoky Mountains in 1938. The cost of the trip includes the show, a boxed lunch and transportation. Registration is required.

Kentucky Downs
We are heading to the Bluegrass state for what they are known for...horses and racing. Listen to the horse's hooves hit the ground as they run the turf track of Kentucky Downs. We will get to enjoy the view from the Finish Line Tent which includes a racing program, buffet lunch, and non-alcoholic beverages. The races will start at 1pm and we will watch as many as we can before we have to head back home. The cost of the trip includes admission to Kentucky Downs, lunch and transportation. Registration is required.

Johnny Cash & Patsy Cline Museums
Let's go to the heart of downtown Nashville to celebrate and honor the music careers of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. At the Johnny Cash Museum, we will take a three dimensional journey through the life and livelihood of this international icon. The Patsy Cline Museum celebrates the life of the legendary songstress and features hundreds of never before seen artifacts and personal belongings. After we tour both museums, we will walk a short block to Joe's Crab Shack for lunch. The cost of the trip covers admission to both museums and transportation. Lunch at Joe's Crab Shack is Dutch treat. Registration is required.

Patti's 1880's Settlement
Let's go back in time to Patti's 1880's Settlement. On site there is a recreated historical log cabin village tucked in the natural beauty of West Kentucky. We will get to enjoy a delicious and filing lunch at Patti's. They are known for their amazing pork chops, but you will be able to choose form a 2" pork chop, Don's chicken, grilled salmon fillet or prime rib. Sides will include a baked potato, salad and Patti's famous home baked flowerpot bread. Dessert is also included with this amazing meal. After we are stuffed, we'll have time to enjoy the settlement and all the wonders is has to offer, including shopping, putt putt, animals, beautiful gardens and much more. The cost of the trip includes lunch and transportation. Registration is required.
